Welcome to the St. Mary Star of the Sea School web site. As the school’s
Principal, I’m delighted that you are taking advantage of this means of
communication. If you are a parent of children in our school, we hope you
find lots of useful information that will not only keep you updated on what
we are doing and events going on at the school, but also will give you
pride in knowing you’ve chosen a place where your child will be given a
quality education from a caring faculty in a warm and safe environment. If
you are considering registering your child at our school, please give me a

If there were but four points I could make about the education a child
receives at St. Mary’s, they would be…
• We’re a school for all children… from those who are exceptional to those
who need assistance – we look at the whole child and strive to make them
be the best students they can be
• Location, location, location… we’re a beautiful campus on Long Island
Sound in a small, tight-knit neighborhood and community where familiarity
is “a good thing”
• We don’t teach for tests but teach being prepared for them using a
interdisciplinary approach across curriculum lines
• The integration of technology with text books and interactive
components strengthen St. Mary’s curriculum
